Fantastic scenery - hoodoos and the Rio grande. The trail up to the overlook is really nice. I highly recommend making this stop, the reward is well worth the small amount of effort! This trail begins at the parking lot which leads down to two hoodoos. This is a very easy walk from the parking lot right off the river road in Big Bend Ranch State Park with some excellent views of the Rio Grande and the rest of the park. I was very surprised at just how much I enjoyed what I saw. Simple loop. This remote park features rugged mountains, steep canyons, amazing views, unparalleled night skies, and solitude in a high desert setting. It is a cool rock formation, what a shame it is so poorly marked. However, there are a few hiking trails we came across. Easy hike, but man was it hot. There’s a portion on gravel that is challenging to trudge though. There are few maintained trails in this new park, most are mountain biking trails.
